<image:caption>Emily (pronouns: she/her) is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She believes that empathy, curiosity, and authenticity are the catalysts for connection and empowerment, and seeks to lead with these values in her therapeutic work. Emily believes that therapy can be a place for anyone—individuals, couples, and families—to reflect on, strengthen, and create healthy relationships not just with others, but with themselves as well. Trained in Integrative Systemic Therapy (IST), Emily draws from various therapeutic models to tailor therapy to each client in recognition that there is no “one size fits all” solution for everyone. She frequently utilizes methods from Emotion-Focused, Acceptance and Commitment, and Internal Family Systems therapies, and also recognizes the power of connecting to one’s body and physical experience as a basis for healing. She takes the systemic view that people and the challenges they face do not exist in isolation, and thus seeks to understand each client’s unique context with humility and care in order to co-create solutions and meaningful change in their lives. Emily has had the privilege of working with families, couples, individuals, and children of diverse identities and backgrounds experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, communication and social challenges, and life-stage transitions (e.g. parenting, divorce, mid-life challenges). She takes a particular interest in topics related to self-differentiation and identity, multicultural and multi-generational relationships, men’s and women’s issues, and parent-child relationships through the lifespan. Moreover, no matter what concerns may be brought to therapy, she honors the opportunity to bear witness to these lived experiences and to allow clients to feel seen and heard. Emily received her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Family Institute at Northwestern University. <image:title>Henna Lakhani - Henna Lakhani, LPC</image:title>
<image:caption>Henna (pronouns: she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Her work as a therapist is grounded in a deep belief in the worth of every person and the importance of nurturing the relationships that shape us. Before becoming a therapist, Henna worked as a high school educator and leader in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood of Chicago. In her classroom, she witnessed how deeply children’s lives outside of school— familial strife, housing instability, food insecurity, trauma—shaped their ability to learn, connect, and feel safe in the world. It became clear that we cannot separate an individual’s well-being from the family system, community, and broader social context we experience everyday. That understanding guides her work as a therapist. Henna works primarily with parents and couples, especially those navigating pregnancy, postpartum, and the early years of raising children. She also supports parents of teenagers, as well as parents of children who are LGBTQ+ or have experienced trauma. She works with new parents adjusting to identity shifts, seasoned parents feeling stretched or disconnected, and couples or co-parents striving to stay aligned through stress, change, and competing demands. A central part of Henna’s work includes exploring and strengthening the attachment between parents and their children, supporting families in building deeper connection, attunement, and emotional security. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and rooted in a systems perspective. She aims to create a space where clients feel seen and understood, while also helping them explore patterns, relationships, and experiences that have shaped them over time. Together, she balances insight and action—making meaning of the past while building tools to move forward in the present. Henna’s work is informed by Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic and relational approaches, feminist therapy, and play therapy, all through a trauma-informed and culturally humble lens. She also brings her lived experience into the space. Henna is raising her toddler while living and parenting through a time marked by political unrest and the ongoing dehumanization of Black and Brown communities. Like you, she is navigating what it means to show up fully in a world that can feel uncertain and overwhelming. As a woman of color and child of immigrants, she is also continually exploring her own identity while cultivating relationships with her partner and community. She understands how these realities shape our sense of safety, identity, and connection—and believes that parenting with intention, care, and attunement can be an act of resistance and a meaningful step toward building a more just and compassionate world. Henna believes that to feel is to be human, and that healing happens in relationships—with ourselves, with our partners or co-parents, and with our children. Her goal is to help clients feel more connected, grounded, and aligned with the life and family they want to build. Henna can be reached at: henna@noshfamilytherapy.com 312.248.3894</image:caption>
