Ananyaa Mahajan, MSMFT

THERAPIST

Ananyaa (pronouns: she/her) is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. Ananyaa holds a deep belief in the power of relationships, connection, and growth. She is driven by a commitment to empower individuals and families to feel seen, heard, and supported as they navigate life’s challenges. Ananyaa sees therapy as a collaborative space where clients can rediscover their strengths, develop healthier patterns, and create meaningful change in their lives.

Trained in Integrative Systemic Therapy (IST), she holds a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University. She has earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology, Sociology, and Family and Human Development from Barrett, The Honors College at Arizona State University.

Ananyaa incorporates elements from a variety of evidence-based models including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Satir’s Growth Model, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Her therapeutic work is deeply informed by a systemic, strengths-based, and culturally responsive lens. Ananyaa provides virtual and in-person therapy for individuals and relationship systems (i.e., couples, polycules, teen/adult child-parent, sibling-sibling, parent-parent), with a particular focus on BIPOC, and immigrant/first-generation communities. Ananyaa invites her clients to intentionally explore the origins of their patterns, imaginatively ponder the future, and deliberately engage with the present as we work towards a more liberated and authentic life.

Ananyaa has a particular passion for supporting families navigating divorce or separation, as well as adolescents exploring identity, autonomy, and belonging. She is also deeply interested in working with immigrant families and clients exploring generational trauma, in addition to individuals and couples seeking meaningful connection, healing, and change. Presenting concerns she has supported include infidelity and affair recovery, rebuilding trust, couple reconnection, parenting challenges, navigating neurodivergence, developing self-esteem, trauma recovery, depression, and anger or mood management.

She is supervised by Nosheen Hydari, LMFT.
